About

Tanya Sangpun Thamkruphat is a Thai-Vietnamese American writer and editor. She has a B.S. in Biological Sciences from University of California, Irvine, and a technical communication professional certificate from University of California, San Diego Extension. She has been a technical writer, technical editor, and copy editor for over 17 years, and has worked at organizations like Panasonic Avionics Corporation, University of California, Irvine, Juul Labs, Microsoft, and SAP PRESS.

Tanya is also a poet and essayist. She is the author of the poetry chapbooks, Em(body)ment of Wonder (Raine Publishing, 2021) and It Wasn’t a Dream (Fahmidan Publishing & Co., 2022). Her writing appears in The Orange County Register, Button Poetry, Honey Literary, San Diego Poetry Annual 2022-2023, Rio Grande Review, and elsewhere. 

Tanya has received literary support from Kenyon Review Writers Workshop, the Voices of Our Nations Arts (VONA) Foundation, Gasher,  The Highlights Foundation, and GrubStreet’s Boston Writers of Color.

Also, she’s a copy editor for Abode Press

She can also be found teaching poetry workshops in her local communities of Orange County and the Coachella Valley in Southern California.

Currently, she lives with her feline overlord and her partner in Southern California.
